Does you machine have an bad symptoms.. (does it still work)

what have you tried.

have you tried the "windows update" in the tools menu of internet explorer. Also I have vista now but i thought there was an icon in the "control panel" for windows updates.

best of luck matey, you seemed to have had a rough trot with PC's lately..

Dirty FKN rodents. I agree with you. But this is no different than Bill Gates's stuff? Need a work around - crack? load games onto small hard drive and then ghost that sucker - then the recipient needs another slave drive?

M8, I've got an SV6 VE and I've got to say I like it. But the utes just have a "tuff" presence.

Enjoy it and have fun in it. (Nice wheels too - I cant pinch em, I'm in Melbourne

)

They get a little too touchy in the concaved wheel tracks in the road if all 4 wheels aren't aligned.

New Zealand is so palsid, i love it.

"An elderly woman missing overnight in New Plymouth has turned up safe at her home this morning.

Sixty-nine-year-old Marie, whose surname was not disclosed, suffers from dementia and went missing from her Dorset Ave home about 9.30pm yesterday.

Search teams scoured the streets for her until about 5am.

Police were told about 8.30am she had been found in her bed, a police spokesman said."

i happend to be outside at the time, thankyou!!

and its not a problem, its a potenchial problem! it MAY be damaged.

yea xp also tells you to not turn off your computer. but because it fell asleep waitng on me to close the broser, when i woke it up n did that, i guess it got confused or forgot what it was doing, it never got to that screen.

Base at pwr has said i can dlead a particular temp file n it should be sweet.
but may be a case of if it ant realy broken, dont fix it.

Take up bike riding or some other outdoor activity and use all you computers as boat anchors, never known a person who has so many problems with a pc :-X

ps some updates need a long time to install and require a couple of restarts and in vista it tells ya not to turn off computer or power :-X

anyone know how to RE-INSTALL a windows automatic update?

yesterday it downloaded, i ignored it, keepd pressing the "restart in 5 min" button.
then i finaly said go ahead and walkd away.

i come back to my computer an hour later, move my mouse to wake up the computer, and on the screen is a nice msg from firefox asking me if i want to close all my tabs(hadnt done the restart)

i click ok, that dissapears, everything els dissapears, and im left with a frosen desktop (looks nice and clean) and nothing happens from there, dosnt move.

so i hit the restart button, and it hasnt asked me to do anything since.
however, i did have a complete freeze on me later that day, so, not im a little worried.

this is winXP32, sp3

i didnt even think of that!! but thats a very good point, you cant sell the games once your done with it....bummer!!!

i perfur to have the disk anyways, saves a little bit of bandwidth, n keep it on the shelf to look good.

AS far as I know the games over tha last 4 years and going back to FC1 is you install your unique code and register then you can not use it again on another computer or sell it, or even return to the shop, so Steam is no different in my mind :-X

It's suddenly dawned on me that when you purchase a game off steam there is no way in hell you can give it away or sell to some one when you've finished with it. Heres steams comment on this:

"A Steam gift purchase is a one-time transfer—after the recipient has activated and installed the game, it is a non-refundable game in his or her Steam games collection. Also note that you may only gift new purchases—you may not transfer games you already own. That’d be like wrapping up and presenting the toaster you've used every morning for the past year."

So the toaster maker says now when you purchase this toaster;
You can not give it away, you can not sell it, and no one else can touch it or make toast with it but you! wtf

How did they get this past every one so dam easily eh?

Just a word of caution, but if someone has an answer do this communistic dictatorship do tell, apart from selling your sole and your complete identity.

I stopped the screen image movement a long time ago when IE8 came out and the background turned to gradients. so i have now switched it back (your wish is my command)

As for the news strip.. well if more people posted new item i would, but not only do few if any post occur, but people don't even pm me with news ideas as i have on MANY occasions asked for.

So if more real news is posted and people request the news column be removed i will..

Installed the full game now with Duran and Alnitro. This looks dam good. Multiplay has many different ways to play that have brought back the feel and balance similar to the excitement I first got with FC1. Will be interesting hearing others comments. I see Foxy has just brought it today as well.

Pros:
Great looking graphics, good connection with realistic movement and action inside the game. Multiplay is fantastic it works very well. Great choice of weapons with variations of each type. Good selection of characters to play.

Cons:
Server side is extremely hungry on bandwidth with a very limited console but it does work. Struggling for anything else.

Edit:
Some comparisons in Bandwidth to give an idea, bear in mind these are from running a server only and are based on a 10min period.
DL 5.5Mb / UL 8Mb = COD WaW in Coop
DL 6.8Mb / UL 11Mb = LFD in Local Server Mode
DL 7Mb / UL 11Mb = FC2 Full Server
DL 21Mb / UL 19 Mb = Call of Juarez - 8 in the Server

Butch and all you gunslingers out there, where are ya, blow the dust off ya guns, your wanted. Get your butt in here and help us noobs shape up. I don't think you should miss out on this one.
